12 Tips to Jump Start your Creativity
I just Wonna have Fun… What about You?
Reading a tips article on creativity and inspiration I noticed something so I started reading it again but this time with greater awareness. The first thirteen tips were all of childlike fun. I was amazed and thought about it for just a moment. When we do fun things our intellect is out, our being is in. We become like children enjoying ourselves in the present moment and experience fun or even bliss forgetting our selves, our troubles and the inner critique and chatter. How simple it is to be creative and at the same time come to the present moment where our ego knows its way out the door.
The basic idea is to enjoy simple fun like when you were a young child. The interesting thing is that the more you meditate the more you will regain this state of childlike simplicity, innocence and joy. Creative beings operate from the heart, not the mind. Artists create from the anahata or heart center. They are perhaps a step ahead of the crowd on their way to enlightenment.
Here are a few fun filled tips to spark your creativity:
1. Go to a playground and observe kids, go down that slide yourself, take the swing, or invite your best friend to enjoy the see saw together.
2. Blow bubbles for the shear fun of it or juggle a bunch of balls.
3. Spin in a circle like a Sufi dancer until you are dizzy and ready to drop your self (and don’t find out the technique how not to get dizzy; yes, there is one).
4. Fly a kite, drive a remote control car or boat.
5. Play your favorite music and dance flowing with the tunes, or dance in the rain.
You are getting the idea. Oh, one more I enjoyed as a kid myself:
6. Climb a tree or get into a tree house. Just make sure you are on the safe side and won’t get hurt.
Creativity Flows through Nature
Then there is another category to regain that creativity. Simply relax into your being by creating or enjoying a relaxing and soothing environment. Here again you want to drop the mind and get to your being into your heart. Getting out of your mind dropping your thoughts relaxing into the no-mind state will bring forth a state of creativity.
7. Be out in nature and enjoy a (barefoot) walk, bicycle ride or mountain hike, the star filled sky at night, a sun set or even a sun rise for those early birds.
8. Take a relaxing bubble bath or long hot shower.
9. Listen to meditative music.
10. Meditate in a dynamic way like in dancing or chaotic breathing, or in a static way observing your thoughts.
Expansion – Relaxing into the Flow of Life
Resistance to the flow of life is created through restrictive and rigid thinking patterns viewing life, people and situations as enemies. Instead open your heart to the flow of life, relax, expand and touch the source of creativity within yourself.
11. Embrace new friends, old enemies and all circumstances and situations in life with friendliness.
12. Reprogram yourself viewing life as causeless auspiciousness, accepting that whatever IS is best.
Creativity, meditation and reflection go hand in hand leading to deeper levels of the self bringing about healing in a wholing holistic way. Truly, blogging, writing, painting, are expressions of our uniqueness at that present moment of creativity in time. Let us experience the present moment and be filled with bliss. Then we’ll overflow with creativity.
