Artist Statement

Udaysree’s spiritual quest led her to explore yantras. A yantra is of geometrical design, and in its traditional and spiritual context is a piece of sacred art depicting spiritual concepts through symbolism. Yantras function as an aid in meditation leading the meditator to higher states of consciousness and enlightenment itself. Even if the yantra art enthusiast is not a meditator, just being exposed to sacred yantra art has a subtle and uplifting influence on the viewer.
A background in design allows Udaysree to make use of her talent to create meditative yantras with a contemporary feel and personal touch. Before Udaysree begins creating her artwork, she meditates to be able to express a deeper connection with Existence, something that is reflected in her yantras. Each piece of yantra art is energized through a process which result may intuitively be perceived and further makes it a piece of sacred art. Sri Yantra and Meru artwork is created according to traditional specifics found in ancient vedic scriptures.
‘As my goal in life is enlightenment, I consciously embrace and explore yantra meditation art in my personal meditations and can speak of the effectiveness of them. Something I continuously hear from art collectors is that they experience my artwork as peaceful and soothing which makes yantras ideal tools for meditation, to discover and integrate one’s being, and experience and radiate bliss.’
