By · CommentsJanmashtami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna who is known through his advice to Arjuna, a spiritual seeker, on the battlefield of Kurukshetra given to us by Vyasa, the writer of the Mahabharata of which the Bhagavat Gita is a part, and gives the dialogue between Krishna and Arjuna before Arjuna fights.
Each time Janmashtami comes up I am reminded of a song that devotees at the SRF Temple of Paramahamsa Yogananda sing: Read More→

Spiritual growth and evolution is one of two paths an individual can choose to go. You either go up or down but you cannot go both. Existence itself offers you a myriad of techniques to evolve to higher states of consciousness. One such technique to raise individual consciousness is intensely immersing yourself in the creation or viewing of sacred yantra art, its worship or meditation upon the center point or bindu.

I just Wonna have Fun… What about You?
Reading a tips article on creativity and inspiration I noticed something so I started reading it again but this time with greater awareness. The first thirteen tips were all of childlike fun. I was amazed and thought about it for just a moment. When we do fun things our intellect is out, our being is in. We become like children enjoying ourselves in the present moment and experience fun or even bliss forgetting our selves, our troubles and the inner critique and chatter. How simple it is to be creative and at the same time come to the present moment where our ego knows its way out the door.
The basic idea is to enjoy simple fun like when you were a young child. The interesting thing is that the more you Read More→

To focus on His spiritual eye often marked by kumkum and called a bindu or point is especially beneficial connecting your ajna chakra with His egoless and pure ajna chakra bringing about expansion and bliss.
Is a Guru necessary?

Existence in itself is complete and from time to time reveals what is needed. A rishi or seer is also called a mantra drashta, a person who sees a mantra which means that Existence shows or reveals to him or her a mantra when the time is right. Existence revealed not only mantras and meditation techniques but also yantras to the rishis of ancient India and in contemporary times when the seer is in a state of samadhi, highest state of consciousness. One such yantra is the Sri Chakra or Sri Yantra which can be utilized for worship and as a meditation device.
